This is a case of village in Jalandhar district, where a widow described the deceit and treatment by her Sons. The case description is as follows, Raminder Singh(widow and an NRI) is the sole owner of the residential house and land and other properties in India. Mrs. Singh is an old aged lady who was duped by her own two sons and was mentally and physically abused by her own two sons. They were the real sons of the this lady Raminder Kaur who have multiple occasions misused the trust their old aged mother reposed in them. Raminder Singh, the mother was the owner of immovable properties in Punjab, which were either purchased or inherited upon the death of her husband. Both the sons always had an evil eye on the properties of the their mother. The sons had taken away all the assets of this old lady in UK.The sons on previous occasions had misappropriated assets whereby sold the a part of the land owned by the mother illegally. There were complaints filed by the mother. At that time, the sons requested the mother not to take any action and withdraw the complaints both before the police and court. They apologized to the mother and assured not to do any such action. It was later that Mrs. Singh was informed by the locals and neighbors about the further illegal actions of her sons. The sons showed drew up some paperwork claiming it to be the power of attorney in their favor from Mrs. Singh.

Mrs. Singh immediately wrote letters of cancellation of any such document and even filed cases in court based on the advice she received. The litigation was ongoing and sons and sons once again requested and apologized the mother to stop the legal actions.

In 2016, once again Mrs. Singh was informed about the misappropriation of the assets by the accused. To her utter surprise and shock, the sons started to show a power of attorney and claiming powers to sell the property of this NRI old lady. She could not travel to India due to her ill health. To her complete state of shock her sons had been illegally using some alleged attorney which she had never seen or had signed or was never in knowledge of any such document.

Mrs. Singh being an NRI followed the complete process as per law to revoke the power of attorney through the office of the Indian High Commision, Birmingham and revoked the attorney which was alleged by them by further serving the legal notice informing them of the revocation. The complainant did as was guided by locals and family friends. Not having much knowledge of the steps etc. she approached the lawyers in India, filed a police complaint but no action was taken. Once she was in a state to travel, she came to India and came to know that the land which is only source of income was being sold by her sons illegally in spite of this document being illegal. To adhere the process under law did follow the cancellation/ revocation of this illegal document in October, 2016. Both her sons, have time and again been told not to misuse this document but their actions did not stall. Mrs. Singh had no intention to ever sell or alienate any part of the assets and had never authorized the Accused or any other person to alienate her assets. The said power of attorney was a result of fraud, forgery and impersonation with the motive and intention to cheat, cause wrongful loss and monetarily harm the complainant in all possible ways. It was complete act of conspiracy not only between the accused but also all the revenue officials who have without checking the veracity of the GPA have let the sale deeds be executed. The sons had not only monetarily harmed the complainant but caused huge agony and harassment to the Complainant. The persons were been requested several times to cancel the alleged Sale deed but the accused persons remained adamant in their behavior and threatened the Complainant with dire consequences. Mrs. Singh being a Non-resident Indian filed police complaints and pursued legal action in the court through the team of legal help nri (a top law firm for NRI). Not only was the FIR registered but also she got the money and property back.
