Under section 24 of The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens act, 2007 shows that it gives protection to the senior citizens in any place if they are abandoned and the said act shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three months or fine which may be extend to five thousand rupees hereby the person who intentionally abandoned a senior citizen.
